Plaque

Title: Plaque.

Material: Bronze.

Dimensions: 4.2 x 4.0 cm.

The base of the plaque is a bronze ring with two large loops on its opposite sides. The most intriguing aspect is the tiger’s head, facing forward, engraved within it. The beast’s mouth is open in a snarl: the fangs of the upper and lower jaws touch each other, forming three holes. The eyes, nose, ears, and skin folds near the open mouth are crafted in relief. Found in the Bos-Tektir burial site, in the Ketmen-Tyube valley. This exhibit dates back to the 6th – 4th centuries BCE.
